King's Crusade is a new take on online collaborative roleplay, being based on the King's Crusade, otherwise known as the Third Crusade which was fought between 1189 and 1192, detailing the first three years before and the many years following it. We are unlike other roleplaying site in the way that we do not simply create a thread for the person we wish to write with. Instead, we write rather in Chapter format.

This is a unique way to bring a historical or fictitious character to life, without having to have a character's entire story revolve solely around a writing partner. It can be a bother to wait for days at a time for a response, and this will hopefully fix that. With King's Crusade, it will be up to the writer to consult any other member's character they wish to include in a post. More information on this is included in the Rules & Guidelines thread.

Each chapter will be about a specific year, the first being set in 1186, three years before the King's Crusade. Each chapter will contain eight threads, one being set in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, Italy, Spain, and the Holy Land. Each of these threads will contain information as to what is happening in that land as well as who the rulers are. The chapters will end only after each thread has reached over 120 posts and if we have completed the timeline for that year. If it is needed, then we will create more threads to continue on in one of those lands.

Yes I have mentioned a timeline. A timeline will be formed before any posts are done in a chapter's threads. It will contain all of the events expected to happen in that year, which will contain any relevant event as well as certain member created events. These events will be of battles, rebellions, notable figures' deaths, and the like.

You might be wondering how we will complete all of these events. Imagine that the time passing through King's Crusade reflects real life days, rather than the traditional posts that happen within minutes of each other. This seems like the easiest way to complete each chapter as we want. Naturally, there will be extensions for certain events if they are not written about when they are supposed to be.
